The quickest recorded time I've seen for a 335d is 13.8@101mph
The 335i by comparison runs any where from 13.3-13.5@104-106mph depending on the source.
I think the original argument was about torque being the most important factor in acceleration but the reality is that "torque" is only part of the equation. An automobiles power to weight ratio is a far better predictor of acceleration.
