What's traditionally terrible about BMW stereo systems is NOT the headunit, instead its the teeney weeney tiny speakers. Got an E36?...well then the biggest speaker in the car is 4½ inches. I'd like somebody to explain to me why BMW has been asleep at the wheel for so long with their speaker choices...they should have partnered with Dynaudio like Volkswagen and Volvo have done. Fortunately we're past the insultingly small speakers now, but that's one thing that always pissed me off about BMW.
Ahh, now that I didn't know - this will be my first BMW you see... Well I'll not be spending the equivalent of $1400 for logic7 when I can take it into an audio specialist and get something better for less.

Do you happen to know if the ipod interface works the same on the OEM stereo as my Becker? i.e. the dials control the ipod's scrolling features and it displays on the screen rather than you having to select songs on the ipod and play through an 'aux' setting?
