You still need a Mass Airflow Sensor but normally with a turbo the fuel is injected before the intake valves (hell, in my old Mustang the turbo sucked fuel and air from the carb - and in the old Maserati Biturbos they had pressurized carbs (those cars caught on fire frequently due to improper sealing of the plenum ; -)). With direct injection there is no fuel at any point before the cylinder head - just air.
