Dunlop 3D.

Tire designed more for the sporting aspect of the winter - optimized for the temps in wet and dry roads, notsomuch the white stuff.

Unless you're in the sticks, aren't the roads plowed 98% of the time?

After years of Quattro I realized - wait - this is overkill:

We live in a completely flat environment. They salt the streets even BEFORE the snow comes. When snow actually arrives, it's plowed within a couple hours. If you've got snows, you don't need AWD to get your move on.

There's no such thing as without warning unless you don't have a television.

You could buy a tire that specializes in ice/snow performance, but unless you live in Fargo or Anchorage, I'm not sure what the point is.

EMBRACE THE PUBLIC WORKS THAT KEEP YOUR STREETS CLEAN 95% OF YOUR WINTER DAYS. YOU ALREADY PAID FOR THEM. DON'T PAY FOR THEM NEEDLESSLY AGAIN.
