DIY 128i BMW Performance Brake Kit W/ Steel Hoses

This is my first DIY post, had trouble posting pics, so be gentle please...
Just got done install of BMW Performance Brake Kit from Turnermotorsports. Thought I would share some of the tricks that make installing this kit a little easier. First, the rear calipers do not come painted. A caliper paint kit from g2usa.com in their phoenix yellow metallic#445 to match the front does the trick. I painted a couple days before the install.
The kit comes with front and rear pads calipers and rotors, 2 sensors, and 2 backing plates with new bolts. I also ordered the steel brake hoses and dot 4 brake fluid from turner.
After removing the wheels, undo the brake sensor located on the drivers side in the little black box on the inner fender. The white connector is the one you want.
Next remove the caps from the calipers revealing the 7mm hex bolt. Remove the hex bolt. Remove the caliper and let it hang out of the way by the hose. If you are reusing the hoses don't let it hang by it, secure it out of the way with a hanger. Remove the 18mm caliper bracket bolt.
Remove the 6mm rotor retaining bolt. These like to strip the inside of the hex sometimes so I put the hex socket in and then shoot it with the air hammer a couple times to loosen it's grip in the hub.
Remove the rotor by gently hitting it on the hat of the rotor to loosen it.
Remove the four bolts holding the backing plate on.
Install the new backing plate using the new bolts. The backing plates will only go on one way.
Clean the paint off of the mating surface of the rotor with a whizzer wheel or another abrasive pad, then spray with a brake cleaner.
Install the rotor with the 6mm retaining bolt.
Install the new caliper reusing the 18mm bolts from the old bracket.
Install the brake sensor in the black box on the inner fender and into the slot on the top of the inner pad.
Remove the brake hose from the steel line on the inner fender using an 11mm line wrench. Take the old caliper and put it aside. Install the new hose into the caliper first, then to the steel line on the inner fender.
Repeat on the other side.
Move to the rear. Same basic settup but the caliper bracket bolts are 16mm's and the sensor connector is behind the passenger side rear inner fender. A 10mm plastic nut and 2 8mm bolts from the bottom hold the fender in place. Just pull it out of the way to reveal the connector.
Remove and install the calipers, bracket, rotor, and hose. Remember to attach the hose to the caliper first, before rear subframe.
Next remove the inner brake hoses that connect the brake lines from the body to the rear subframe. You can follow the steel lines to the front of the subframe. Install the new ones in the same fashion as they came out.
After the hoses are all hooked up crack the bleeders on all the calipers remove the master cylinder reservoir cap and let them gravity bleed. Once you see fluid dripping out, close off the bleeder. Make sure the master cylinder reservoir doesn't go too low, you don't want to add more air into the system.
With the car running, pump the pedal slowly only about halfway until there is resistance in the pedal.
Use a friend to bleed the system by pushing the brake pedal while you crack the bleeder several times till there is no air coming out at all. Start on the caliper furthest from the master cylinder then work your way to the closest. I.E. left rear, right rear, right front, left front.
Check the pedal feel. Should feel High and Hard. If it doesn't try bleeding again.
Install the wheels, test drive the car in a non populated area like an empty parking lot. Allow 125 miles before any hard braking to allow the pads to seat properly.
Hope this is helpful. This upgrade is easily done on jacks if a lift is not present. Should take no more than 4 hours to do at a slow pace.
