I've seen plenty of threads on BMW forums where BMW won't honor warranties due to "abuse" or tracking the car. Even for wear/tear items. This is even while still under the 4 yr / 50k warranty.

There is a thread right now on M5board where BMW won't honor a clutch replacement and the car is still under full original warranty. They accused the owner of high revs, abuse, and tracking the car. The dealership called BMW NA to file a warranty claim, BMW NA denied it.
