Just because it's not forged doesn't mean it won't hold some power. The stock crankshaft in the GM LS2 can easily hold 800whp all day and it isn't forged. I'm sure BMW wouldn't replace it if it wasn't more than adequate still.
I'm really interested to see what the N55 will put down once it has some more R&D done on it.
