I had the same question for my BMW salesman when i was buying a used 135i. Being there is not many 135i used CPO for sale they had a nice black with red coral interior i had a deposit on that had rusty hubs..it looked like shit on a rather pristine car.. I ended up backing out of the deal as i had black cars now for way to long and really wanted a change...He mentioned BMW hubs all rust..but it still looks like crap IMO..I would brush,, lightly sand and seal with a proper sealer if available. Luckily the Sedonna Red 135i i ended up buying had hubs that were not rusted. ATM my 135 is a weekend clear day/night car and has not been in the rain more than a couple times since i have had it so no rust yet...but when it happens i will keep it looking the best i can and not rusty...Looks to me is almost as important as the performance..To me there is no room for visable rust on this car wether it's normal or not...but i am a freakin detail nut so what can i say...
