Your parts guy is miss informed. The M3(1M) rear subframe bushing WILL FIT in our e82's just fine.

The only difference is the forward mounts must be pressed out from under to above the subframe. The rears come out (and go back in) from the bottom side. So in order to press in the forward mounts... you have to drop the rear axle a foot or two - to have enough clearance for the tool to get up in there.
