Yes it can be 1x1 or 2x2.. I am going to suggest whatever matches the BMW stuff so people with mirror caps and the decklid spoiler will have matching pieces.
I havent looked under the car yet, but yes I am assuming it will bolt on through existing holes. We may need longer bolts, I havent looked into specifics since we dont have the requisite 20 people yet.
