BMW makes a great car and they really do hold up well, but as with any car that does this kind of mileage you need to toss up the options of getting something that could cost you BMW-style.
I've had older cars, and the more prestige the car the more you spend if things go wrong (not saying it will of course, we love our baby bimmers!).
I doubt they are going to drop their pants on the price to make the benefits outweigh the risks for you, so for the price you are probably going to end up paying I agree completely with Mr Blonde, plenty of better fish in the sea.
Also it may be well worth checking the east coast for deals on an MY09.
