^^ I agree about importing. I think it has to be considerably cheaper to be worth it, or unavailable locally. There is a risk vs reward curve for importing and each individual has their own level of risk they will be willing to tolerate.

As for these seats, $4500 usd works out to be just shy of $6k AUD to your door. Plus customs plus Plus install, plus other bits and bobs, closer to $7500 (probably more). So there is potentially $500 - $1000 to save, but you assume a lot of risk. Until I saw this thread, I thought buying overseas was my only option. But now that the seats can be done locally for more or less the same price, with help if things go awry, I dont believe the overseas ones remain an attractive option.

My car has a sunroof, so the carbon fibre roof will hopefully free up some space. Maybe next year after tax time I'll hit you up for a set of these seats, they look wonderful.
