just to be clear, there's a lot of confusion on this on various forums
the US regulations do not require a reflector IN the light, the manufacturer can put it anywhere on the front corner, I'm not sure of the exact placement rules, ie on the bumper like a bunch of other cars is just fine, that's why we see many cars with clear corners, but also having a amber reflector attached near the front corner.
I'm sure someone thought it looked better in the light, than stuck to the fender
