I used 3m self adhesive Velcro - loop side. You need to cut it into small strips (just cut width wise) and adhere it to the top cover and hinge assembly at the back. It pinches on the Velcro and prevents the plastic from contacting, so it can't squeak. I've done this to several vehicles to eliminate panel vibration or noise. Had to line the entire center console on my Ford Escape to make it silent. Works like a charm though.
