It really depends how attached you are to AWD. I for one would upgrade from the WRX for the transmission alone. BMW transmissions aren't S2000 smooth, but they come fairly close, and are a blast to row through. The other thing, and your WRX may be different, but I couldn't stand the rattleness of the Impreza line. The fit and finish and touch points of the BMW are spot on in comparison.
