My TDi is 2000 1.9 Golf, 90hp and 156 torque.. 139k miles and going strong... Drove once to Florida from NJ (1300 miles), 1 fill up on the way @ 600 miles... 50mpg was nice.. The car is light on its feet, I think my TDi is around 2900lb.. New Tdis are 140hp/250 torque and Europeans are lucky and get GTD diesel (170 hp/258 torque and GTI suspension bits and other goodies, reviewed here:

I am amazed at the new diesel BMW announced today, new and improved 3.0TT: now matching 306hp of 335 and now with 17 more lb/ft torque, total 442. Being 4-9 percent more efficient that current TT diesel (The fuel injection system upgraded to BMW's latest gen common rail system). (
