Well, evolution scientists say that modern man is a descendant of an earlier "ape like" animal. Technically, humans ARE apes. Evolution doesn't just discard one model for another, as long as a certain model is thriving.
The "ape", which modern humans evolved from, is the ape that evolved into the homo-sapien sapien, modern human. We are the evolved modern version of that ancestral ape.
The other apes amongst us fill their niche and thrive, thus there was no need to get rid of them. That's why they're still here with us. 
Just because there is a new generation of BMW enthusiasts, that has no bearing on why a BMW model already called the "M1" should be ignored or forgotten. |
