This is all very helpful. Interesting then that we have a mix of N54 and N55 pieces.

I remain curious as to the specific hardware differences and their interchangeability among models.

BTW, I'm aware that Sachs Race Engineering (SRE) makes some very good stuff, including the pressure plate used in HPF's highly regarded "feramic" clutches.

Unfortunately, SRE -- the motorsports unit of original equipment manufacturer giant Sachs -- does not have a U.S. distributor.

My understanding is that SRE has both a stage 1 and stage 2 pressure plate that not only has significantly greater clamping force but that also has reinforced straps -- the latter useful for withstanding damage from an inartful downshift on a road race course.
