I like to use Adam's Super VRT on my tires, however that being said, you can get better dressing application when you clean up the tires nicely to get the tire dressing to adhere better on a clean tire.
most water based tire dressings will last maybe 1-2 good rain storms.
I haven't seen anything I really liked that will last a long time, the trick is to get the car cleaned weekly if you can and just keep applying a nice layer of dressing on the tires each time. it will build a nice coat that will last longer and absorb into the tires.
