They already have the m135i, and m235i upcoming. There's no way you'd buy an m2 that would have less power or potential power than a 1/235.. Or less than the old 1m for that matter.
Betwen the n55 and s55, there's not much room, and (imo) no roomfor a high power 4cyl.
