There seems to be a huge amount of YMMV on this topic.
By the book they'll only change if pads and/or rotors are below minimum spec.
Some people have been successful getting them changed because of "warping" etc.
My rotors have noticeable lips and cracking much worse than the average heat-cracking. Nonetheless I measured them at ~ 1mm above minimum spec, which is actually a ton of life still. Dealer declined to replace and regurgitated a SIB saying that cracking was normal and did not affect function.
