The girl I date has only been in this country for 6 years and probably speaks english better than most of America.....funny eh.

But if people think they wont be judged on proper use of english then they are fooling themselves. I had a boss that would not hire people with a southern accent because he felt it demonstrated that they were not as smart as others. Messed up, I know, but get used to it in America. Hell, I think that a heavy brooklyn accent makes people sound less educated and I know guys with electrical engineering PhD's that speak in such a manner. Doesn't mean they sound less educated when explaining quantum theory. But best believe when they go for a job interview they are judged for it immediately and it WILL change their chances for being hired.

I had a professor who wouldn't give me the time of day because I would wear baggy hoodies all the time at school, but hey, I want to be comfortable when I study for 14 hours straight. First second he saw my 3.95 GPA he bent over to suck my d*ck to get me to do research in his lab. Guess what I told him....thanks but no thanks, I don't work with your kind.

Moral of the story. You are judged every step you take (how you speak, how you dress, how your hair is cut)...get used to it or else you will be mad for the rest of your life.

You don't hear many CEO's saying "Ay'O, O'Ay" now do you???

End macallan induced rant.
