The early cars had small/thin wastegate actuator arms. I seem to recall 8mm vs the later ones being 10mm's. The early ones tended to round out the actuator diaphragm and rattle in place. I think this was mainly for cars up to late 2008 or maybe early '09's.
I suppose they also looked at your injectors and HPFP and SW to make sure all those are good to go too?
