I have not had more than 4 people and usually only have 2 or 3. I haven't ridden in the back but have sat there and it seems comfortable. That is also the reports I get. The compromise is the need to move the front seats forward. All the males in my family are well over 6 feet and most females are 5'9" so the fronts are typically pretty far back.
