That is what I am talking about. To me it would have made more sense If I was to hold the "close" key to roll all of my windows and the roof up, just like you. My GF's Fiat is the same way as yours, "close" key to roll up the windows but my 128i is opposite which I don't like. Guess the safety takes priority in this one, from the BMW's point of view.
