Here's what I would do:
Get the VIN from your CA. Plus it in to the shipper's website.
If the car is scheduled to get on the boat it will tell you. If the car is on the boat it will tell you which ship its on and when its scheduled to get into NY. If its been delivered already it will tell you that too.
Remember there are two different "in transit" status'. The first is in-transit from the factory in Leipzig to the port where it will get loaded onto the ship. I believe this is a train trip. Then there's "in transit" as in on the a boat headed to the US.
Just get the VIN from your CA and you can figure out where it is.
