Swapped on my old star-spoke style 119 OEM rims (17x8 et47) with 225/45/17 Blizzak LM-25 RFTs. I previously had this winter setup on my '04 330ci and was worried the front offset might be too high, but they fit fine (thanks to Gill for his insight).
Just drove 1000 miles from NH to WI without incident. Nothing flashy (looks a bit like the stock 128i), but I'm glad I didn't have to buy an all-new winter package.
