Btw... here are the shifter throw measurements:


N54 stock = 80mm's
N54 Performance SSK = 55 mm's
N55 & 1M = 70 mm's

I really LOVE the way the performance SSK feels. It is a GREAT mod to do! I'd say a must have mod like the "CDV delete".


For N55 & 1M guys wanting a SSK... I suspect that you could use this Performance SSK - even though BMW says it is only for N54's. The reason why I say this is Rogue Engineering used a N54 shifter cradle on thier 1M with a modified shifter lever for their SSK - I suspect that either the Performance SSK or by using a N54shifter cradle with a different shift lever(like the Performance one/part) would give you 85% the feel of the Perf SSK.

sounds good. after reading your review i will be parting out a short shift kit. it and the CDV mod are pretty much the last two upgrades to do for my car. thanks as always for the insightful posts
