Nobody reads the NY Slimes. They're damn close to going belly up due to awful readership.
Never been to Lebanon but as a native NY'er who speds time in Manhattan and was a US Navy sailor whos been to many great cities all over the world I would find Beirut hard to qualify for the top spot.
Personally, I wouldnt care to visit a place where Hezbullah and other militant fanatics are everywhere.
But its cool you like it.
