Well I've had my pump replaced twice within the life of the car (bought in late 2008). I'm originally from the US so the first time was not even a year ago in the US (Sept 2010), and then while up in Toronto the engine light came on and I took it to the dealer here and they replaced the pump again, no questions asked, under warranty. Funny how the 1st pump lasted over a year with and was replaced because of long cranks but no light, and the 2nd pump goes within a few months with multiple engine lights. And I barely drove the car between the 2nd and 3rd pumps!
Oh well, at least I can say the dealerships in Canada seem to be well aware of the issue and won't hesitate to replace yours if it's faulty.
