Papethova, in addition to the sales tax issue I emailed you about, my local dealer also told me the following:
"BMW does also offer a 0% payment program with no credit check, which makes it a little easier on the wallet. You can put 10% down and break it in to 12 monthly installments that are automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card."
This is another thing to consider -- would such a program be applicable to any buyer of the extended warranty and/or maintenance?
It might increase participation in the group buy, unless the dealers are only offering a big discount because they expect full payment up front? (I don't know how the financial back end works for dealers when they sell extended warranties).
