The N55 mid pipes do make more noise(just not music to my ears) but part of the reason why I removed them from my N54 135i was bc I felt like I lost some torque down low in the rev range. I'd say by 3,500 rpms they were making more power(& lots of noise)... but I just did not feel like it was the "right" kind of noise. Now that I have my Performance Exhaust installed on my car(with cats & N54 mids/secondary cats) I feel that the performance exhaust
IS music to my ears. I love my PE. I should have just bought it from the start instead of wasting $400 on the N55 mids. But a lot of people like the N55 mids on their N54 cars - so what do I know.
