The typical Akra sound seems to sing more obviously in default mode, during soft but steady acceleration, especially when the engine is still cold. I've only used the M-mode once.... I don't like it at all and never used it since so that cannot be the cause.

WHat you describe with the slow acceleration is exactly what i mean and that's what has changed . I never go above 3000rpm with a cold engine though.
