Didn't get any low coolant warnings although the reservoir was dry.
I only have the Bluetooth OBD tool and an app on my phone to check, dont think I can check codes on that.

The coolant tank ws empty most likely bc the coolant system pressure was so high/hot. Inside the cap there is a safety valve that will puke the coolant out of when pressure gets too high.
HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED to a dealer or repair shop. You most likely need a new waterpump and thermostat. IF you do it yourself you are looking at about $550 in parts. There are a few DIY's here too, its not that hard of a job - so people say. AT the dealer its around a $1,200 repair.
