Every M car gets its own unique attention, which includes its own unique engine. This thing needs a naturally aspirated inline 6. Look at the E46 M3, you're telling me they couldn't take the 3.2L engine and improve upon it? (efficient dynamics, right?). The 1 M is boring. They should have just called it the 135i w/ competition package and charged an extra 5k for it.

I don't think their sales are going to look very good on this one. If anything, more 135's will be sold as a result.
Wow. Ignorant and negative people suck.

So, you're saying the M6 is completely indistinguishable from a 650i? They are not going to take a NA engine anymore and put it in a M car. Get over it. The 1M is boring? Do you not drive a 1-series and have seen the spy photos? It wasn't going to be a radical change. You are getting a M car which has proven to be beat ever competitor including AMG, Audi RS and the like for 25 years. This car needed to be made to improve on the deficiencies of the 135i. I guarantee this will revolutionize this segment. They haven't made an M car like this size since the E36. It's going to fun to see when this thing is tested. Can't wait to see all the negative idiots eat their words like they did about the 1M only being an "is" model.
