The Perf SSK is a nice way to go. I ordered the parts by themselves since I did not want to change my shift knob nor the leather boot. Its also cheaper that way - when you order each SSK part ala kart.

Shifter throws
N54 (stock) 80mm's
N54 SSK 55mm's
N55 & 1M (stock) 70mm's

Since your car is a N55... you only need the shifter lever AND a new bushing/bearing and new washers and C-clips. Should be like ~$150 total in parts.

I would say to go with the PPK1 - just the SW. You really have to push the car hard on the street to go into limp mode. And installing all the extra hardware of the PPK2 is a two day job at the dealer.

With BMW's PPK tune it will make your car more fun to drive and I think you will really like the slightly louder exhaust pops and gurgles that it adds.
