Ya I need to have IS in the lens and I think Sigma is the only one that has IS on the 17-70. I may get one of those. Honestly I have done some tests on a tripod using the same settings with both my kit 18-55 and the 15-85 and the 15-85 does do better in some areas but not enough to make it worth it I think.
