Enough with the weight already. It's not as light as we would have hoped, true. However, 3373lbs. for a 135i, 3395lbs for an '08 STI, and 3585lbs for an Evo X, the 1 doesn't look quite so hefty to me. The last 2 have awd, but also have 2 fewer cylinders and lower build quality. Throw in the big price jumps (STI $35 cheaper than the 135i, Evo X for approx. $34K for the GSR and $39K for the MR) for both AWD models and the 135i is sounding like a better deal all the time. Even my friend that owns an Evo IX SE said he'd rather have a 335i than an Evo at that price. The Yen is held artificially low against the dollar and the Euro is screaming up all the time. I don't know what excuse they could have for the pricing.

Also, the whole outright dismissal of any American cars no matter what irked me. At least the Jalopnik editor had some sense in that count, even though he could only focus on the weight of the 135i.
