It doesn't matter how much venting there is. It's a function of weight and lift at that point. If anything venting will increase the airflow through that corner of the headlight and increase hood lift due to the increased air velocity.
The 1er should have two latches, but it doesnt. It has one dead center. And the applied torque of the lift caused by air moving at, lets say due to drag, 100 mph through the engine bay times the 2 feet from that point to the hood latch causes a sizable moment.
