I've been saying it since I got interested in the car. From a former E36 M3 owner, it just feels like a modernized version with a few upgrades. It's amusing how even the power mods(like the intake manifold from a different model of the same engine) are identical.
I do miss the mechanical throttle cable and increased steering feel of the E36 though. LSD too, but that's fixable.
