I probably wouldn't put a personalized plate on a BMW. I think personalized plates are more appropriate on a car that is only driven occasionally or a car that would draw a lot of attention to itself, even without the plate (i.e. an exotic sports car). Maybe this is why almost every Corvette I see has a personalized plate.
There was one personalized plate that really got my attention, but probably meaningless to most drivers. There was a car parked in front of a hospital with a plate reading:
P QRS T
Even though I never met the driver, I figure he must have been a cardiologist. Those are letters that represent the waves on an EKG (see photo below).
