Water Pump failed at 39,000 miles
Yup, I was stranded, and BMW assist had trouble getting me a tow.... I have a 2008 135i with 39000.00 miles, and my warranty expires on March 30 of this year. So, in this regard, I am very lucky. My dealer is recommending the Platinum extended warranty at $3500.00 because I have navigation.... My BMW friends are telling me not to do it... My car has been in service an inordinate number of times, mostly for little annoying things, but also for a few major issues like the water pump and ignition coils, etc. At this point I am totally befuddled: I am retired, the car only gets 20mpg, it is going to get expensive; however, I do own it, and it is fun to drive. I don't think I will keep it for three
more years. Part of me is considering dumping it for a high mpg Toyota, Honda, etc. I hope BMW introduces a 4-cyclinder 1 series that will get 30 mpg.....
