Here at Acura, we are required by Honda to check roadforce on all tire installs. It is surprising how many wheels/tires have excessive roadforce that will cause a vibration.

When you do a roadforce balance, you are just measuring the roadforce, not compensating for it. It can tell you if the tire was installed properly, or if there is a bent rim or a bent belt in the tire. You can really only adjust it if both the rim and the tire are out a bit, and you can match the high point of one to the low point of the other to cancel out the excessive roadforce.

Had one today. Brand new steel wheels and winter tires. Checked roadforce, was at 15 kg (limit is 12.0 kg) Machine measured the total roadforce, then the rim roadforce. It tells you to mark the tire in one spot, and the rim in another, then rotate the tire so the marks line up (was about 160 degrees) Checked again, roadforce dropped to 3.0 kg. Smooth as glass.

Pretty much every dealer shop uses it now.
