Hey, this sounds ALMOST as good as the method I initially opened this thread with 4.5 years ago, but not quite, because felt will ultimately get crushed flat under compression, whereas rubber will not.
I guess it's time to unsubscribe from this thread; it's just too funny.
BTW, still squeak-free after 50K miles and 4.5 years with the method in post 1, but hey, whatever works for you... ;-)
