I have personally removed my xenons and replaced them with halogens, updated my VO and default coded the NFRM and they work perfectly with no modification to the wiring. The only difference in the wire harness between xenon cars and halogen cars is an additional ground for the xenon cars that doesn't do anything in a halogen car.
I suspect something went wrong with the coding procedure.
