Where in the production stage does the vehicle get assigned a VIN? Once the chassis is complete? I imagine its before the vehicle is completely assembled but after the unibody (or whatever frame type they're using) is welded together. I got my car 10 working days after I got my VIN (though thats not necessarily the day the VIN was assigned). Granted, I'm in Germany and only 2.5 hrs from Munich, but it still made me wonder. I was very happy to get my car after only a 70 day wait. :P
