Sorry to pull up an old post but it could create more understeer but there are many performance focused cars with narrower front tires than rears. It's more of a matter of tuning your chassis to get the weight and traction where you need it throughout the corner (I.E. Sway bars, ride height, camber) than a matter of the rubber. On the street I think the difference would be negligible.
