Is it as bad in person? Also, do you think it might be because of the 3m tape underneath or the overall shape of the part?
I've seen some oem ones and they seem to fit water tight st the edge.

The only potential downside is "yellowing" of the clear coat over time. OEM you can guarantee that it won't yellow.
