Super easy, especially compared to other BMWs(ie pulling the engine on the E60 M5). As 631 mentioned, you do need to remove the underbody panels, and you will need to reroute the O2 sensor lines a bit. Hardest part is some mild hand contortion and making sure you torque them down properly with the new gaskets.
