I think everybody who complains the 1M is a "parts bin" car needs to remember the S54 Z3 M coupe. That was basically a parts bin car as well (albeit with a true M motor) and it became an instant classic due to the low production numbers and awesome performance. I sold mine a year ago for the same price that I paid for it in early 2006. The production numbers on the 1M will be higher, but still low enough that combined with the upcoming gap in M cars and that fact that it feels like more of a purist's car it could be destined to become another classic.
